Winner of prestigious Klinger Book AwardI just want to let people know that At the Desert's Green Edge was awarded the Klinger Book Award by the Society for Economic Botany. This is according to an announcement in the members' publication for the San Diego Natural History Museum, where Dr. Rea is a research associate.

Excellent Resource!The author gives historical information, info on gathering materials, as well as detailed instructions with excellent photographs, on Indian basket weaving from several tribes. From some of her comments about the weavers and their attitudes, I suspect she knows them personally or at least did her research very well! Excellent documentation and bibliography. You can even learn some Indian words! I highly recommend this book and want to add it to my library!

Pima 101I have read this book time and time again, it still teaches a lot. It is an amazing look back in time as to when Pimas' were Pimas'. Being Pima myself, A Pima Remembers is my number one book. George Webb had great dedication and meaning, reading the book tells you where it came from.
